I’m sorry you and your family are going through this! My granddaughter 4+ yrs ago was found by an online predator. She was 10, almost 11 at time. Thankfully her mom checked her phone and found where the guy was trying to get her to sneak out to meet him. He’d sent a video of himself which is how law enforcement identified him. This man was a practicing psychologist who was also going to TAMU working on PHED in child psychology. Even knowing who he was and what he’d done it took over 6 months to arrest him. It’s almost 5 yrs and he has not been sentenced yet. Our Justice system is definitely broken. We do what we can which is a lot of therapy. Ive watched my granddaughter lose all her self esteem, even feeling guilt and how this was part her own fault. That’s how she was made to feel by investigators talking with her.
I had NO idea you had faced something like this and I am just SO sorry. It's so hard for people to understand the depth of pain and the length of time it takes to recover. And so many dont... recover. It's debilitating and heartbreaking. Im so thankful your granddaughter is safe. I am beyond shocked that this man isn't behind bars. I have no words.
